Furniture makeover - What would you do with this piece?

Here's a little piece I picked up on ebay a few weeks ago, a little maple side table.  It's slightly rough at the moment.

It sits over here against a white wall.  Oh, and the lamp finally has a new shade...yet to be photographed!

There are really three options I suppose.

A. Strip and varnish (or wax)
B. Paint it
C. Leave it and claim it's "rustic".

Decisions...what would you do?

If you have stopped by, it would be lovely if you could leave a comment or just say hello so I know that you've been here. Thank you!

  2. White! I think the white would accentuate the curves. White with something colourful displayed on it. Love it. A-M xx

  3. I'm with A-M, I'd paint it white. Think you would be really happy with the result.

  6. I think either white or duck egg blue would be the way to go as the shape is so lovely and you know I love colour. melx

  7. I would definitely paint it a color that will make the lines of the table pop. I think that its shape is where its beauty lies. By the way, your blog is really lovely and I'm so happy to have found it through your comment on my blog:)

  8. My instant reaction was 'White' when I saw it. Then "accent colour" came in my mind...put yes, paint it.

  9. Hi Kathryn,

I found your blog via BYW. It's lovely. I particularly like your images. If that table was mine, I would sand it and paint it. :) dependent in the style of your home of course. I have recently painted a piano (?!) and will be painting a whole stack of furniture next week. It just gives them a new lease on life. And it makes things fun again. It's also an easy way to update your space and ad a new element to it.

    Have a love day day.
